  DEFINITION OF PROCEDURE TEXT : HOW TO Make 

• Procedure text is a piece of text that give us instructions for doing something.
• Text that instruct how to do a particular activity e.g. recipes, rules for games, science experiments, road safety rules.
• Text that deal with human behavior, e.g. how to live happily, how to succeed.

  GENERIC STRUCTURE  

1).     Goal

 This text contains about purpose of making or operating of something.

2).     Materials/Equipment

Materials consist of ingredients that are used in making something. But not all parts of procedure text includes materials, sometimes a procedure text does not have materials section.

3).     Steps/Methods

Contains the steps or sequences that must be done so that the objectives outlined in the goal to be achieved. Steps or sequences must be a sequence from the first to the  last.

  PURPOSE OF PROCEDURE TEXT  

→ To explain the reader how to do something through a sequence of actions or steps.

 EXAMPLE OF PROCEDURE TEXT : HOW TO MAKE 

HOW TO MAKE AN OMELETTE

OMELETTE

Ingredients:
Two eggs
Onions
Garlics
Chilli (if you like spicy)
Salt
Vegetable oil

Steps:
Firstly, cut into pieces the garlic, onions, and chilli
Second, break the egg into a bowl
Third, put the garlics, onions, chilli, and salt into the bowl
Then, mix them gradually
The next step, heat a frying pan
After that, pour the dough into the frying pan, wait until it looks yellowish
Next, lift using spatula and put it in a plate
Finally, omellete is ready to serve.
